The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) requires all stations to maintain transparency regarding governance, finances, and community representation. PAL-TV is, in theory, one of those stations.
Important Disclaimer: PAL-TV is not affiliated with the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). PBS does not endorse us, approve of us, or acknowledge our existence in any official capacity. We suspect they would rather not have their name mentioned in the same sentence as PAL-TV, but compliance requires we state this clearly.
While PBS is known for respected national programming such as NOVA and Masterpiece Theatre, PAL-TV specializes in the following:
- Council Meeting replays where the audio sometimes works
- Possum Fest coverage, in full and without edits
- The Dale Hour (duration and Dales vary)
- Community announcements read by whoever shows up first
We remain committed to serving the Hobart community with programming that is at least technically television. All complaints, compliance questions, and concerns about our broadcasts should be directed not to PBS, but to PAL-TV. (If shouting them at the antenna tower doesn’t work, email might.)
